General Description: This section is a very good novice trip. There are small grade 2 rapids to Barrett's Bridge on the Long Ridge Road (Grid ref. 694 972). After Barrett's Bridge the river is mainly flat with a lot of small log jams. Do not paddle the Deloraine weir. Note: The sections between Deloraine and Birralee are not recommended as the river flows through heavily treed areas and the channels are difficult to follow. At high water levels the final 3 km above Egmont Bridge is grade 5.
