General Description: This section provides excellent canoeing for those who want to polish their white water skills. It is mainly shingle rapids and small waves. There are two main rapids. One is about l m high and is concealed when the river turns left under a cliff, this is easily avoided. The other is "Roaring Maggie". About 2 km below Dynans Bridge. It is recognised by the overhead power lines and is usually a grade 3-4 rapid. Inspection is on the left bank. Portage if necessary. The section between the top two bridges makes an excellent novice trip.
